Trinity this week – Advent 2 – Peace

Hello Trinity Friends,

This second Sunday in Advent join us online or in person for worship at 10:30 am.  The link to join us online is Trinity’s YouTube Channel  A reminder that there is a special Carol sing/hum that starts around 10:20.  An order of service complete with hymn lyrics is attached to this email so you can follow along to the service.

Although we will not be collecting items in the usual way for White Gift Sunday – your givings to those in need are always appreciated.  Donations of money to our Food Shelf or Infant Food Shelf ensures that we can continue to provide needed items for families, individuals and babies.  Donations to the Christmas Bag Outreach program will also be gratefully received.  This year we will be preparing gift bags for those who are unhomed or living in need. These bags will be distributed through Hope’s Kitchen on Cassells to help spread some joy around this season – which can be so difficult for those in need!  Thank you for your continued support of Trinity’s outreach programs.

Decadent Dessert Fundraiser A decadent dessert fundraiser auction will take place on Friday December 11th from 9 amd to 7 pm.  Items will be posted on an event page on Trinity’s Facebook page in the next few days for you to browse – but you can not place your bid on any item until 9 am next Friday!  For those of you not on facebook, you may call into the church to place your bid OR set a bidding limit and we will place your bid for you.  Updates will also be posted on Youtube and our website and I will email a full list of desserts early next week.  Look for a very special announcement about this in Sunday’s worship service 🙂

A reminder also that AOTS Gift Cards go in this Sunday.  Gift Cards make wonderful gifts for those hard to shop for folk in your life.  Ed Rose shares this message:While you are coordinating your AOTS Gift Card order at the Roses, why not cross the driveway to the Brownlees to support The Friends of Camp Caritou. Snowmen chocolate bars are $3 each or 2 for $5. They make great stocking stuffers. Cindy says:It has been very quiet at Camp Caritou this year and we anticipate several more months of quiet. Covid has been a challenge as we have lost our income, are not eligible for any funding, and fundraising has been challenging. With your support I am sure we can get through this so we can look forward to welcoming children, youth and families to Camp Caritou again. *See the flyer attached here for more information!

One other announcement – as many of you know, we have returned to in person worship (with many Covid safety precautions in place). This means that we have limited seating.  For our Christmas Eve service, we will be holding 2 identical services to ensure that anyone who wishes to attend, is able to.  There will be a service at 4, and one at 7.  We can NOT take reservations but it would be very helpful to us, if you plan to attend, to know which service you are planning on attending.  Please let us know via a phone call or an email so we can plan accordingly. Of course, just like our Sunday service, this service will be livestreamed and posted on YouTube
May peace be with you,
