Trinity this week – Christmas

Hello Trinity Friends,
This Sunday at 10:30 am, we light the fourth candle in our Advent Wreath – the candle of Love.  Join us on this very special day as the Trinity Choir presents  “One Silent Night”. It will be a wonderful all ages service that all children are encouraged to stay in service for.  Younger children may go downstairs for a craft and story, if they wish.
A reminder that this Friday is the LONGEST NIGHT Service. The Advent and Christmas seasons can inspire profound highs and lows in our lives.  On Friday Dec. 21st at 7pm, members of Trinity United, along with friends from St. Andrew’s United, will gather for a service of heartfelt string music and candlelit prayer in the Trinity sanctuary. It’s an opportunity for a spacious pause, to contemplate the hopes, fears, and prayers that fill that longest night of the year.  All are welcome!
Christmas Worship Services
Monday December 24th
• Christmas Eve Family Service – 7 pm
• Christmas Eve Communion – 8:15 pm
The All ages Family service begins at 7 pm. We celebrate the Christmas story with scripture, carols and a whole lot of joyful noise. A brief Communion service will follow shortly after. All are welcome to both of these services. Our nursery is available for your convenience but will not be staffed on Christmas Eve – children of all ages are more than welcome at both services!

The offices will be closed from Tuesday December 25th and will re-open on Wednesday January 2nd.  For emergency pastoral care, THIS email will be checked periodically.
As you gather with friends and family this Christmas, may your hearts and homes be filled with love, laughter, and joy.  For those of you who are travelling, safe travels!  Please remember to hold those who are alone or hurting in prayer and love.  MERRY CHRISTMAS and may you have a new year filled with good health, happiness and much love!

Trinity this week – Advent Joy

Hello Trinity Friends!
This Sunday we light the Advent candle of Joy – and what better way to celebrate Advent joy then watching the Sunday School present their Christmas Pageant: “An Animal Nativity”. The children have been working hard and are excited to share the Christmas story with you.  Caregivers and parents of children in the pageant, please remember there is a dress rehearsal tomorrow at 1 pm in the Sanctuary and the call on Sunday is 10 am in the gym.  Please remember indoor footwear, leggings or pants, and a plain shirt.  Although it has been our custom to have a potluck after the pageant this year we are NOT having a potluck or lunch after the service.  It has been a busy time for folk around here!
Following the service at 1:30 pm, the J.O.Y. Bands will be presenting their Christmas concert: “A Most Wonderful Christmas”.  The sing-a-long starts at 1 pm.  Free will offering with all proceeds going towards the Warming Centre.Advent and Christmas Worship ServicesFriday December 21st• Longest Night Service, 7 pmSunday December 23rd• Choir Cantata: “One Silent Night”  10:30 amMonday December 24th • Christmas Eve Family Service – 7 pm• Christmas Eve Communion – 8:15 pmThe All ages Family service begins at 7 pm.

Trinity this week – Advent Peace

Hello Trinity Friends!
This Sunday we light the second candle in our Advent wreath – the candle of peace.  We also celebrate White Gift Sunday. You are invited to bring gifts, money and non-perishable food items on Sunday December 9th for Trinity’s White Gift Offering. These gifts will be brought forward during worship and will be donated to Trinity’s Food Shelf Ministries or Trinity’s Christmas Gift Bag Project. In the spirit of White Gift Sunday, a reminder that each of us has something to give – whether it be the gift of time for someone who is sick or lonely, sharing a talent, or reaching out to help others who are less fortunate.  Thank you for your generosity and for reaching out and sharing God’s love with others this Christmas season!
