Sundae Sunday and more!

This Sunday we are celebrating and thanking our Sunday Teachers and Volunteers!  We are also celebrating 4 baptisms, Rev. Richard Smith’s 30th anniversary of ordination and the UCW will be presenting bibles to the grade 5 students.  It is going to be an action packed service! If you are Sunday School teacher or volunteer please plan to attend this service so that the children can thank-you!

If you have a child in the Sunday School program, we will be calling on their help to distribute the gifts to our teachers and volunteers.  This year will be a scaled down Sunday School appreciation but that does not mean that the volunteers are any less appreciated!

Following the service please plan to come downstairs to enjoy an ice-cream sundae.  (If you are able to help us serve the ice cream that would be appreciated – so we can get it served up quickly before it starts to melt!)

Also, a reminder to the men who have signed up for the Testosterone Weekend – you will be meeting over Sundaes and finalizing plans for the trip.

Thanks and hope to see you Sunday!

“‘Til Rev. Do Us Part…”

It was with great pride and raucous celebration that an overflowing church celebrated the ordination of Emily Duggan on the first weekend of June at the meeting of Manitou Conference in Mindemoya, on Manitoulin Island. United Church luminaries Rob Dalgliesh, musician Ron Klusmeier and Moderator Gary Paterson were on-hand to greet the busload of Trinity pilgrims who traveled many hours to attend a worship service that was overwhelming in its love and celebration!

Trinity is much-blessed by the presence of Emily and her family. Emily’s mom, Darlene, regularly gifts us with her enthusiasm for music and drama. Emily’s step-dad Dave is so often behind-the-scenes of our biggest meals and fundraisers, as well as leading Tuesday night’s Beavers. Emily has been a beloved soloist for many Christmas Eves, she’s shared insights around Israel-Palestine, for years she’s worshiped with us, occasionally preached, and been treasured in our life and prayers.

Emily takes those prayers with her to her new ministry in Louisburg, Cape Breton, which begins this summer. –But not before we get to celebrate her during our 10:30 worship service on Sunday June 9thEmily will preside with Lisa at communion and receive some parting gifts from the congregation.

Congratulations, Rev. Emily, you are a blessing!
