Trinity Weekly Update – April 17th

Hello Trinity Friends!
We have had a very busy few days here as the King Lear production has begun its run. The cast and crew have expressed their gratitude for how willingly and graciously the Trinity community has welcomed them and they have been amazed at how busy a place Trinity is. The buzz and excitement around all this has been wonderful!

This Sunday during worship we are joined by some of the cast and crew of King Lear who will share some of the secrets of the incredibly brilliant set design.

Next Sunday (April 26th) we will be joined by David Fox and other cast members from King Lear, as well as the cast from Mustard Seed who will be sharing a song from their upcoming musical. A UCW sponsored lunch will follow the service.

This weekend some of the AOTS are meeting for the annual AOTS roundup at Jackson’s Point. Later this week some of the UCW will be attending the Manitou Conference UCW Annual Meeting in Timmins. For more information you can contact Judy Biondi (contact info available from the office)

Friday April 24th from 11 – 1 is the UCW Cafeteria Style Lunch. All are welcome to this popular downtown lunch (soup, sandwiches, chili and more)

Hope2Kenya Pasta Dinner – Saturday April 25th from 5 – 6:30 pm. $10 each ($5 children). Why not come for dinner and a show? Pasta followed by King Lear!

Next Saturday April 25th, youth from North Bay Presbytery will gather at Chisholm United Church for a campfire-a-thon in support of Camp Lorrain. All youth in Grade 7 and up are welcome to attend. For more information contact Marcel at nbpyouth@yahoo.ca Pledges will be collected at Trinity to support our camp. If you would like to make a pledge, please fill out the pledge form located in the Sunday School room.

Tickets for the upcoming Glitter Dinner (May 9th) will be available after church from Doris-Rae Brownlee. Tickets are $40 each and include a $25 tax reciept. This is a fundraiser for Trinity United Church’s General Fund. Steak, Salmon, Chicken, Veg, Dessert and more will be served buffet style. Musical entertainment begins at 5:30 followed by dinner at 6 pm. There are a limited amount of tickets – get yours early!
