Trinity this week – May 5, 2024

Hello Trinity Friends,

This Friday email will be jam packed, please read on (you may want to grab a cup of coffee or tea)!

This Sunday our service will be led by John Sheridan.  John is a Licensed Lay Worship Leader often booked to lead worship services in other churches- we are grateful to him for leading our service this Sunday!

Come early (between 10:15 and 10:20)  to participate in a Hymn Sing!  We invite you to request a favourite hymn – viewers at home are welcome to request one too.  Just reply to this email and I will be sure to pass along your request!

In Sunday School the children will be making botanical print cards with Karen!  They have been having a great time getting creative, messy and learning about planting! If your child was absent last week and didn’t pick up their planter, they can pick it up this week.

This Sunday is also Red Dress Day – the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (more information about that will be in your Sunday bulletin and shared by our minute person)  You are encouraged to wear red on May 5th as an act of reconciliation and to honour Canada’s Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People. You can learn more by clicking here MMIWG Final Report

For those who wish to view the Canadian Shield Regional Council’s Celebration of Ministries Service – it will be livestreamed on Sunday and available to watch after you attend worship at Trinity! Our Moderator, Rev. Carmen Landsdowne will be offering the sermon. During this service Tracy Davis (Minister at Emmanuel United Church) will be Ordained and I (Lisa Blais) will be Commissioned. Here is the link if you’d like to view the service. Celebration of Ministries Service
