Trinity this week – Thanksgiving Sunday

Hello Trinity Friends,
Between apple pies and Christmas movies it has been a very busy week here at Trinity!  It is truly a blessing to work in such a busy place with so many caring and active people.  This week apples were picked, peeled and made into over 1600 delicious pies.  We are incredibly humbled and grateful to the many people who took the time to support this project – those who coordinated the project, those who helped pick and prepare the apples, those who rolled pastry, those who helped assemble the pies, those who carried and delivered pies, those who donated money and ingredients and of course, those who bought the pies.  We are truly thankful!
This Sunday, we celebrate Thanksgiving and all our earth’s bounties. We celebrate World Wide Communion Sunday along with our Christian brothers and sisters around the world.  In the spirit of thanksgiving, we are asked to bring non-perishable food items, or a monetary donation for the Food Shelf ministries at Trinity.  Trinity provides a weekly Food Shelf and an Infant Food Shelf to those who need it in our community.  Thank-you for supporting this very important ministry.  Items will be collected during worship by the Sunday School children.  Thanksgiving envelopes are available from the ushers.
This upcoming Tuesday October 9th at noon, Trinity plays host to “100 Women Giving Thanks”  This is a major fundraiser for Trinity’s Infant Food Shelf.  All are welcome to join us.
Next Sunday is Baptism Sunday – October 14th.  If interested please be in touch with Rev. Ted or Wanda asap
Rod Carley, the Director of Gateway Theatre Guild’s  “Arsenic and Old Lace” would like to invite Trinity friends to a vip performance night on Thursday November 1st or Friday November 2nd at 7 pm. Tickets are $20 each.  See the attached poster.  A Sign up sheet is outside the office!
For those of you travelling for Thanksgiving – may your gathering be filled with joy and love!

Trinity this week – St. Francis Sunday – Sept. 28, 2018

Hello Trinity Friends,
This Sunday September 30th we celebrate St. Francis Sunday.  You are invited to bring a furry friend or an animal memento to be blessed at the service.
We are also encouraging people to wear orange in memory of those families and children who were affected by Residential Schools – many workplaces and schools are wearing orange today as well – but the official Orange Shirt Day is Sunday September 30th.
Next Sunday is Thanksgiving Sunday and Communion.  Join us as we share Communion – joining our brothers and sisters around the world who are also sharing Communion!  In honour of that, we will have a variety of breads to choose from.
Thanksgiving Offering Envelopes will be available from your ushers this Sunday.  Our food bank has been very busy.  Please remember the food bank when you are shopping this week.  Non-perishable items such as soup, pasta, tuna, peanut butter, as well as longer shelf life vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, squash and of course, envelope donations will be collected by the Sunday School children next Sunday.  Please check your expiry dates! Thank-you for supporting this ministry!
A reminder that this upcoming week the Apple Pie project will be in full swing. Thank-you to the Linda Holmes and Bay Today for the wonderful article about this amazing project!  The phone has been ringing off the hook with orders!  If you have not ordered yours yet, you should get your order in asap to avoid disappointment!  If you want to lend a hand or order a pie, please contact Darlene Laferriere or call the Church Office at (705)474-3310

Trinity this week – September 21, 2018

Hello Trinity Friends,

It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here! A movie is being filmed in our Fellowship Hall and in our Sanctuary – this Sunday, come and see how Rev. Ted incorporates this into his message!

A reminder that next Sunday September 30th we celebrate Saint Francis Sunday. You are welcome to bring a furry friend or animal memento to receive a blessing.

Sunday September 30th is also Orange Shirt Day. You are encouraged to wear an Orange Shirt to honour the children who survived the Residential Schools and remember those that did not. We wear orange shirts in recognition of the harm the residential school system did to children’s sense of self-esteem and well-being, and as an affirmation of our commitment to ensure that EVERY CHILD MATTERS!
