Hello Trinity Friends,
You are invited to join us for worship this Sunday at 10:30 am for our Transfiguration Sunday service – either in person or on YouTube here Trinity’s YouTube Channel
With the loosening of some of the provincial Covid restrictions we are now able to gather downstairs in the Fellowship hall for some brief social time. As masks are mandatory at all times, there will not be coffee available – so it will be “un-coffee” time only!
At this time, proof of vaccine is still required and masks must be worn. We are at half capacity to allow for physical distancing but there is plenty of room – so please feel free to join us if you are willing. We’d love to see you!
Next Sunday March 6th is the first Sunday in Lent. We celebrate with Communion, begin our “Blues” Lent Musical series and Sunday School resumes! Following worship on March 6th, the Annual Congregational Meeting will be held via Zoom at 1 pm. A link and more information about the ACM will be made available to you next week. If you do NOT have access to any technology and you would like to participate in the ACM please let us know by contacting the church office or replying to this email. The Annual Report and proposed By-Law and Constitution changes were sent out last week and are also posted on the website. If you need a paper copy or you need these re-sent, please let us know.
Please join me in offering sympathies and prayers to Barb and John Roberts and family on the death of Thelma (Skip) Patterson this week. Thelma was 102 years old and a beloved member and Honourary Elder of Trinity. You may read Thelma’s obituary here Thelma Patterson. A Celebration of Life is being planned at a later date – details will be forthcoming.
AOTS Gift Cards are available for purchase up to Sunday March 6th. Gift cards for most grocery stores (including Orchards), gas stations, many restaurants, department stores and much more, are available for purchase. Your support of this program helps the AOTS provide important support to youth in our community and beyond. Please be in touch with Ed Rose to order yours! His contact information can be obtained from the church office. Thank-you!
In this week of turmoil and fear, please pray for Ukraine and the people on all sides who are being affected by this heartbreaking situation. We pray for peace. We pray for the use of diplomacy over weapons of war. We pray for all those lives that have been lost or sent into turmoil on all sides. I include a link to a prayer from The United Church of Canada Prayer for Ukraine In God’s name we pray and hold on to hope for a peaceful resolution.
