Trinity this week – Remembrance Sunday – November 10, 2024

Happy Friday Trinity Friends,

This Sunday November 10th is Remembrance Sunday. There will be a Remembrance ceremony during worship where we will honour and remember those men and women who served our country. 

There are a number of events and activities happening at Trinity and in our community.  Please see below for an extensive list – mark them in your calendars and join us if you are able!

Tomorrow – Saturday November 9th from 1 – 3 pm is the UCW Christmas Tea and Bazaar.  Browse the bake and craft tables, and then stop in to the tea room for afternoon tea.  Admission to the tea room is $10 and includes sandwiches, treats, tea and coffee.  

Please note that the County concert that was scheduled for Saturday November 9th at Trinity has been CANCELLED due to illness.  If you have purchased tickets they will be refunded.

The Compassionate Committee for the Homeless in North Bay will be holding its third annual Information Session on Wednesday, November 20 at  7 pm. at Trinity. Guest speakers from frontline organizations include: 

* Tracy Clement – Tracy’s Heart and Hands  

*  Trever Leblond – Cold Weather Response Program, Crisis Centre of North Bay  – *  Stuart and Brooke – Outreach Peer Workers, True Self – Debwewendizwin  

For those attending the information session, please consider a donation of new hats, mitts, warm socks or scarves OR monetary donations for the purchase of boots and shoes in support of the Winter Boot Campaign which will take place on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption garages across from the cathedral located at 480 McIntyre St W.

Emmanuel United Church Christmas Fundraiser takes place on Saturday November 23rd from 7 – 9 pm.  An evening of music and festive food with special guest Daniel Currie. Admission is by (recommended) $15 donation.

Trinity’s Cookie Walk takes place on Saturday November 30th from 9:30 – 11:30 am (or until sold)  All are welcome to pick up a variety of your favourite treats!

THE 4 TRINITY TEAM is looking for women, men, teens, and families to bake for the annual Christmas Cookie Walk which will be held on Saturday November 30th, 2024. We need plain, fancy and gluten free cookies and squares. Please note, there is no sign up sheet. We operate on faith that you will bake for this fundraiser. Money raised is for Trinity. Cookie tins are also needed.  Please drop off any cookie tins that you don’t need in the Narthex next week. There will be a box labeled Cookie Walk. Thank you!

Save the Date:  The Barrel Boys are returning to Trinity on Wednesday December 4th at 7:30 pm for “Carols from the Barrel”  Tickets are $25 ($20 for students/artists/underemployed).  Bluegrass and Roots music with fantastic harmonies.
