Hello Trinity Friends, Happy New Year! Please join us for worship this Sunday January 8th at 10:30 am. As always, if you are unable to attend in person, our worship services are available on YouTube or on Cogeco’s YourTV the week after. This week’s Sunday School topic is Epiphany. Next week we will begin a 2 week rotation on the Call of the Disciples. https://www.youtube.com/c/TrinityNorthBay
The sympathy of the staff and congregation is extended to the Farris/Einarson family. Betty’s Mom, Gertrude Waldie, passed away on Tuesday just a couple weeks before her 103rd birthday! Betty tells us that her Mom referred to Trinity as “her church” attending many of our virtual services. She especially loved the music! We offer our prayers and our love to the family.
There are a number of important announcements – please be sure to read through the entire email and your Sunday Bulletin (which is also posted on our website).
Soup Tasting is back!– Friday January 27th 5 pm to 6:30 pm. Please see the attached poster for more information. We are still looking for soups, bread/buns and cupcakes. If you are able to contribute please sign up in the Fellowship Hall after church or contact Moe (call church office for his contact info)
AOTS Gift Cards: The next date to order gift cards is this Sunday January 8th. You may purchase gift cards for a number of businesses: groceries, gas, restaurants, retail stores and more! Some of our regular purchases place a regular order for grocery cards – this is a terrific way to help support the AOTS outreach ministry while doing your regular shopping! Speak with Rob Brownlee for more information or to order your cards!
United Churches join together for worship on the 5th Sunday of the month! For the coming year, local United Churches will gather together for worship whenever there is a 5th Sunday in the month. The host church will open up their doors for all our local United Churches. On those Sundays, we will move our worship service to join the host church – meaning there will be no worship at Trinity (unless we are hosting) on that Sunday. It is a wonderful opportunity to gather together and bring our faith families together! The first gathering will be this month – on January 29th. We will join in worship with our friends at Emmanuel United Church. The guest preacher will be Jennifer Henry, a senior staff person at the General Council Office. Her message will focus on The United Church of Canada’s new Call & Vision Statement: “Deep Spirituality, Bold, Discipleship, Daring Justice.” Please be sure to join us at Emmanuel United Church on Lakeshore Sunday January 29th at 10:30 am for this exciting new worship experience! Please mark your calendars and note that the 5th Sunday dates in 2023 will be: January 29, April 30, July 30, October 29, December 31.
Great news – The Trinity Family Retreat Weekend returns on Saturday February 18th to 20th! Mark your calendars and stay tuned for more information and registration forms.
On behalf of the staff, please accept our gratitude and appreciation for the cards, gifts and well wishes during the Christmas season! We feel truly blessed to be part of this caring community. Thank-you! See you Sunday!
