Trinity this week – First Sunday in Lent – March 6, 2022

Happy Friday Trinity Friends,
Please plan to join us for worship this Sunday as we begin our journey into the Lenten season. We celebrate with the sacrament of Holy Communion and are welcomed into the “Blues” Lent series with our first musical guest, Angie Nussey. We are also thrilled to return to Sunday School. Imposition of Ashes: At the end of service, those who wish, will be invited forward to be marked with the sign of the cross. 

The worship service begins at 10:30 am and will also be livestreamed to YouTube here Trinity’s YouTube Channel  The bulletin is attached for those at home, so you are able to follow along and join in our responsive prayers. 


COVID PROTOCOLS UPDATE
Proof of vaccination is no longer required (but always encouraged). Please note that masks must be worn at all times and we encourage you to practice physical distancing and increased hand sanitization. 
A reminder that should you be experiencing symptoms of Covid or have been in contact with someone with Covid, we ask you to join us for worship from home by attending our worship service on YouTube. Thank you for continuing to keep each other safe.

Annual Congregational Meeting – this Sunday March 6th at 1 pm on ZOOM All members and adherents are invited to attend Trinity’s Annual Congregational Meeting.  The agenda, all materials and a zoom link will be sent out later this evening or Saturday morning.  If you do not receive this email and would like to attend please be sure to contact the Church office.


Vigil for Ukraine Organized by the area United Churches, a vigil in support of Ukraine has been planned tonight (Friday March 4th) at 7 pm at City Hall.  Please join us as we light candles and lift up our prayers for peace. If you are not able to join the gathering, we invite you to join us in spirit by lighting your own candles and offering your own prayers.  The United Church of Canada is receiving funds that will be directed to humanitarian assistance in Ukraine through its ecumenical partner, ACT Alliance, which is responding to the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation. ACT members are scaling up their presence inside Ukraine and in neighbouring countries to aid those impacted by the current armed hostilities. You can donate to the Conflict in Ukraine appeal through The United Church of Canada here Ukraine appeal or by cheque to Trinity United Church – please clearly mark “Ukraine Appeal” on your cheque.
