Hello Trinity Friends,It was wonderful to gather with some of you last week for worship in the Sanctuary. This Sunday we will continue to join together in worship Sunday morning at 10:30 am. A reminder that masks are optional (but always welcome) in most areas of the Church. The exceptions are the designated mask only section on the lectern side of the Sanctuary. (lay readers, musicians and volunteers – please remember if you sit in that area to wear a mask). Masks are also required in the lift.
Worship will continue to be available online on YouTube here Trinity’s YouTube Channel and broadcast on Cogeco’s YourTV the week after. Thank you to our tech team for continuing to offer this service to those who wish to join us from home. They have continued to do an outstanding job! A reminder that the weekly bulletins are posted on our website as well – for those who wish to follow along at home.
This upcoming week the last of the movie companies will be filming in Trinity. This includes Wanda’s office and a number of other areas of the church. Thank you to Wanda for giving up her office space for the week – as such, many of the staff will be working from home for the week. The Monday Food Shelf will continue to operate.
Vacation Bible Camp begins on Monday August 22nd. We are excited to be back! It will be a busy week of fun and activities. If you have time to help out in the kitchen for any of the days or would like to donate some food – please speak with Janice Brownlee or Jean Mitchell. We will need mini muffins, home baked cookies, plain unfrosted full sized cupcakes – but check with Janice of Jean to see what is needed beforehand. Thank you for supporting our summer camp program!
FALL NEWSLETTER DEADLINE
Items for the fall newsletter are due to Ross by Sunday August 21st.
STUDENT HOUSING NEEDED
Trinity has received a request from a young woman who comes with the recommendation of her home church, Stittsville United Church, and the Rev. Grant Dillenbeck. Grant and his partner Ruth are friends of Lillian and Gord Roberts here at Trinity. Lauren will be at Nipissing September through to April but out of town during October and February when she will be doing her teaching practicums in Ottawa. Lauren has written this note about her search for housing.
Hi my name is Lauren Flaborea and I am seeking a room rental. I am attending Nipissing University for Teachers College. I am a quiet and clean person who would be happy to help around the house with cleaning and anything else if things arise. I teach online tutoring so most of my time would be split between studying for Teachers College and Tutoring. I would be hoping to do my own cooking and would require some space in the fridge for food storage. I am very flexible and would love to chat with anyone if this is of interest.
Please let us know if you are able to help or you know someone who may have space for Lauren.
GRIN REAPING- a new book of short stories by Rod Carley SAVE THE DATE! Sunday September 18th – Lunch after service followed by Rod Carley reading from his new short story collection. He’ll also be answering questions and signing copies of his book. A sign-up sheet will be available in the Fellowship Hall.
See you Sunday 🙂
