Hello Trinity Friends,

After a time for rest and renewal, your staff are ready to get back to Trinity and the regular routines that the fall season brings!  The Trinity offices will re-open on Wednesday September 3rd at 9 am.  Our Sunday worship resumes on Sunday September 7th at 10:30 am. You are encouraged to bring your school or work bags to worship on Sunday to receive a blessing.  Following the worship service, you are invited to Camp Tillicum for our annual Rally Back Church Picnic.  You will see more about that below.

Fifth Sunday Service at Carmichael United Church – this Sunday August 31st at 10:30 am. Please join your United Church friends at Carmichael United Church  (521 Four Mile Lake Rd) for a special outdoor service.  Please bring a lawn chair and water bottle.

Trinity Family News

During the summer months, we were saddened to learn of the death of two beloved Trinity members: Pam Somerville and Dainty dePencier.

Dainty was a regular fixture in the Trinity kitchen where she volunteered with the apple pie project and with the UCW preparing sandwiches and squares for the many Trinity events that the UCW provided food for. She will be dearly missed by all her friends and family. Dainty’s funeral was held last week at Martyn Funeral Home.

Pam Somerville was a gifted artist and a beloved member of Trinity. Pam generously donated many pieces of art for a Trinity fundraiser a few years ago, so many of us are fortunate to have some of Pam’s beautiful art in our homes or offices!  Pam’s Celebration of Life will take place on Friday September 5th at 11 am in Trinity’s sanctuary.  For those unable to attend in person, the service will be livestreamed on our YouTube channel

Canadian Shield Regional Council Family News
We share  the news of the death of John “Jack” Page on August 26, 2025 in his 91st year. Jack was a faithful and dedicated servant within the life of the United Church, especially through his leadership at Emmanuel United Church, North Bay.
Visitation will take place at Emmanuel United Church on Friday September 5th from 6:30 – 8 pm and the memorial service will take place on Saturday September 6th, 10:30 am at Emmanuel.

Trinity Arts and Nipissing University present Ken Steacy on Edutainment”
Trinity is proud to host Nipissing University’s Annual Anne Clendinning Lecture 2025. On Thursday September 11th from 7pm to 9pm, come see a FREE lecture from legendary comic book artist Ken Steacy about, “EDUTAINMENT: Visual Storytelling In Service of Education, Instruction, and Advocacy.” ‘Edutainment’ delivers educational content in an entertaining form, in service of instruction, education, and advocacy. It does so by capitalizing on visual storytelling’s inherent ability to engage its audience! (Ken Steacy will also provide a one-of-a-kind sketch of North Bay’s own Shad-Man as a fundraiser for Trinity!)
