Trinity this week – The first Sunday in Advent

Hello Trinity Friends,
This Sunday we enter in to the season of Advent with a very special service.  We celebrate the Confirmation of 6 youth, share Holy Communion and enjoy special musical offerings from the Joyful Bells.  Cast members from “It’s a Wonderful Life” will offer a sneak peak on next week’s show as well.  It is a Sunday you will not want to miss!


Next Sunday, the second Sunday in Advent, we celebrate White Gift Sunday.  Gifts, money, and non-perishable food will be collected by the Sunday School to support our outreach ministries this Advent season.  Gifts to our Food Shelf, Infant Food Shelf and Christmas Gift bag outreach will be gratefully received.
It’s a Wonderful Life, the beloved holiday classic, comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast as a Christmas fund-raiser to assist with the Trinity roof repairs.Directed by Rod Carley, It’s a Wonderful Life features Marty Brown, Nathaniel Brubacher, Rod Carley, Gavin Pigeau, John Power, Geoff Richardson, Tracy Richardson-Sloan, and Meg Stokes bringing to life over 50 characters. With the piano stylings of Chris Mogan & the acapella quartet HeartbeatPerformances take place at Trinity on Friday, December 6th at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, December 7th at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 8t at 2:00 p.m. Adults: $15.00 Students: $10.00


Christmas Gift Bags will be packed on Sunday December 15th after the JOY Band concert.  Items such as: mitts, socks, slippers, treats (regular and diabetic ones), playing cards, games, puzzles, toiletries (no hotel soaps please), adult colouring and activity books, journals, crafts, word search and other puzzle books, etc. can be dropped off Monday to Friday between 9 and 12 – please clearly label them as “Christmas outreach”.  Medium and Large Christmas gift bags or money to purchase gifts are also appreciated.


A reminder that tonight, is the Downtown Christmas Walk.  We do not have any event planned at Trinity, but the youth will be here baking cookies for the cookie walk tomorrow so if your family would like to come and warm up between 7 and 9, hot chocolate will be on and you would be welcome – McIntyre street entrance – ring the bell!


Don’t forget to come to Trinity tomorrow (Saturday) between 10 am and 1 pm to choose your cookies from the annual 4Trinity cookie walk.  $5 a dozen and you choose your favourites.

In this season of Advent, we light the first candle in our Advent wreath – the candle of hope. May our  hearts and eyes be open to places in our world that are in need of hope.
