Trinity this week!

Hello Trinity Friends,

This weekend, Trinity and St. Andrew’s United Churches play host to the final Manitou Conference General Meeting. As we gather for our final time as Manitou Conference, we will be reflecting on our time together. There will be some mourning as we say goodbye to some of the structures that we have become accustomed to, but also some celebrating as we look towards what the new region may bring us. Please hold the Manitou General Meeting delegates and Conference staff in prayer as we close this chapter.

As part of the Manitou General Meeting, a few members of “The Hosts” band will be offering music on Friday evening. All are welcome to join the Manitou Conference delegates for “Loss – Hope – Revival” by A Slice of Heaven in Trinity’s sanctuary at 7 pm. Enter through the McIntyre street entrance.

This Sunday October 21st, during worship, we will be joined by Jim McCaskill, who will share a portion of his adaptation of the “Book of Job” . Many of you may remember Jim from the Romeo and Juliet production that performed at Trinity a couple years ago!

Also this Sunday October 21 the 1st North Bay Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will be taking orders for popcorn. Many have enjoyed this gourmet popcorn in the past. If you would like to order popcorn for delivery in early November see Dave McKenney, Jared or Michelle Johnson after Church on Sunday.

An exciting announcement for those who have not heard – The 100 Women Giving Campaign has raised over $15,000 towards the Infant Food Shelf. We are so grateful for the community support and the awareness this has raised about this very important ministry. Thank-you to all who have helped support through donations of items and money, knitting blankets and volunteering!

A High Tea Bible Study hosted by Heather and Kirk Ready will take place in November. See your bulletin for more information and be sure to add your name to the sing-up sheets in the Fellowship Hall if you plan to attend.

Blessings and peace,

Hello Trinity Friends!
Please join us this Sunday for worship at 10:30 am.  There will be a prayer shawl blessing during the service.  Children in Sunday School are learning about “Thanks” giving.
Special Announcements and Events
This past week, the Infant Food Shelf was the beneficiary of a major fundraiser – 100 Women, 100 dollars, 100 hours.  This event not only raised a considerable amount of money for our Infant Food Shelf but it also raised awareness to this important outreach ministry that Trinity provides.  Special thank-you to Linda Sheridan for her passion and dedication to this very important initiative. It is thanks to her hard word (and a generous donation from the Iris Scott estate)that the Infant Food Shelf was created.
AOTS Gift Cards will be available to order this Sunday after church.  Gift cards can be purchased for a wide variety of items:  groceries, gas, restaurants, books, movies and more!  A portion of the sales come back to the AOTS to support the many youth activities that rely on their support.  See Ed Rose to purchase or for more information.
The UCW will gather on Monday October 15th at 1 pm in the Fireside Room.  All women are welcome!
Fall events guide is attached here —> Fall newsletter 2018 for information.  Have a wonderful weekend and hope to see you Sunday!

Trinity this week – Thanksgiving Sunday

Hello Trinity Friends,
Between apple pies and Christmas movies it has been a very busy week here at Trinity!  It is truly a blessing to work in such a busy place with so many caring and active people.  This week apples were picked, peeled and made into over 1600 delicious pies.  We are incredibly humbled and grateful to the many people who took the time to support this project – those who coordinated the project, those who helped pick and prepare the apples, those who rolled pastry, those who helped assemble the pies, those who carried and delivered pies, those who donated money and ingredients and of course, those who bought the pies.  We are truly thankful!
This Sunday, we celebrate Thanksgiving and all our earth’s bounties. We celebrate World Wide Communion Sunday along with our Christian brothers and sisters around the world.  In the spirit of thanksgiving, we are asked to bring non-perishable food items, or a monetary donation for the Food Shelf ministries at Trinity.  Trinity provides a weekly Food Shelf and an Infant Food Shelf to those who need it in our community.  Thank-you for supporting this very important ministry.  Items will be collected during worship by the Sunday School children.  Thanksgiving envelopes are available from the ushers.
This upcoming Tuesday October 9th at noon, Trinity plays host to “100 Women Giving Thanks”  This is a major fundraiser for Trinity’s Infant Food Shelf.  All are welcome to join us.
Next Sunday is Baptism Sunday – October 14th.  If interested please be in touch with Rev. Ted or Wanda asap
Rod Carley, the Director of Gateway Theatre Guild’s  “Arsenic and Old Lace” would like to invite Trinity friends to a vip performance night on Thursday November 1st or Friday November 2nd at 7 pm. Tickets are $20 each.  See the attached poster.  A Sign up sheet is outside the office!
For those of you travelling for Thanksgiving – may your gathering be filled with joy and love!
