Trinity Summer Closure

Hello Trinity Friends!

We had a wonderfully successful week of Vacation Bible Camp with 55 campers plus youth volunteers attending a full week of games, cooking, crafts, music, bible story, mystery and more!  Special thanks to the many people who helped to make sure the kids had a fantastic adventure: from cooks, to leaders, to helpers, to special guests – we could not have done it without you!  Plans are already underway for next year’s camp.  Thanks again to Trinity folk for your support of this important ministry.

We would like to remind you that Trinity is now closed for summer holidays.  We will resume worship at Trinity on Sunday September 6th.  During our summer closure all are welcome to worship with our friends at St. Andrew’s United Church (or any other faith community of your choice).  For Pastoral Care emergencies please contact Rev. Jane Howe at St. Andrew’s  (705)472-7680

A reminder also to those of you who submit items to the Fall Newsletter to:

MARK YOUR CALENDAR! Deadline date for submissions for the fall newsletter is Sunday, August 30th for distribution on Sunday, September 6th. e-mail Rob at brownler@vianet.ca.

Wishing each of you summer blessings, rich and memorable times with your family and some relaxing Sabbath rest!

See you in September,

Trinity this week!

We had a fantastic (and exhausting) week of adventure, fun and learning this past week as Trinity played host to over 50 young people during our I-SPY Vacation Bible Camp. I am grateful for the many, many people who helped to make this important ministry flourish. Thank-you to all the people who helped feed us each day, to the youth who volunteered 35 hours of their summer to help shepherd the campers, to the parents who lent a helping hand when needed, to Colonel Ted and our “famous” detective groups who added intrigue and excitement to our week and especially to my partners in clue busting, Caitie Blumsom, our summer intern, Melissa Peddie and Marcel MacDonald.

Join us this Sunday (our last Sunday before Trinity closes for holidays) as we celebrate our week of VBC with a song and a very special blooper reel!

While Trinity is closed, St. Andrew’s friends will welcome us to their worship service each Sunday in August. emergency pastoral care is available from the Rev. Jane Howe while we are closed. Have a safe and restful summer. See you back at Trinity on September 6th.

Trinity Weekly Update

Hello Trinity Friends!

This week has been seen a flurry of activity as we get ready to play host to over 50 kids for our Vacation Bible Camp. Beginning Monday at 9:30 Trinity will be jam packed with young people singing, creating, exploring, playing, learning and having fun! Thanks to the many people who have volunteered their time helping, baking, organizing, and acting – and thanks also to those who donated money to support those who would otherwise be unable to attend the camp. A reminder that next week will be a busy place – and every room will likely be used – please bear with us!

This Sunday we celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism. We continue to welcome friends from St. Andrew’s who are joining us throughout July. Our last Sunday (before holidays) is Sunday July 26th. Our friends from St. Andrew’s will be extending a welcome to Trinity folk who are invited to join them for worship throughout August.

The AOTS Gift Card Fundraiser program will be taking a break while Trinity is closed. This Sunday is your last day to order gift cards. Plan ahead and order your cards for August. Travel plans are made simpler with gas cards, food cards, coffee cards, etc.!

Prayer Pilgrimage for General Council

To prepare the church for the 42nd General Council in Corner Brook, August 8-15, you are invited to join a 40-day Prayer Pilgrimage – praying each day for those who will journey as commissioners to GC42, and for all of us who together make up the church.

The Prayer Pilgrimage begins June 29 and runs until August 7, the day before General Council 42 begins. We invite you to use the prayer booklet to join us for daily prayer before GC42. The prayers will also be shared daily on the United Church Facebook page.

Also in the 40 days leading to General Council 42, Moderator Gary Paterson is hosting a discussion on “conversations that matter” on his blog. Join us to reflect and dream together about the vision and mission of The United Church of Canada as we move forward into a new future. Make it part of your pilgrimage.
