AOTS GOOD FRIDAY BREAKFAST

Again this year Trinity’s AOTS will host Breakfast on Good Friday morning, April 3rd, within Trinity’s Sunday School Hall.

Rev Lillian Roberts, Personnel Minister, Manitou Conference, will be Guest Speaker. All are welcome to attend – men, women and youth. Doors will open at 7:30 AM when the coffee will be on.  Breakfast will start at 8:00 AM allowing time to enjoy a tasty breakfast, enjoy fellowship with friends and new acquaintances, hear our guest speaker’s message and depart in time to attend

the Good Friday service at Omond United Church. Admission at the door (McIntyre St entrance) is $10.00 per person.

This week as we journey through Holy Week, there are a number of worship services and opportunities to deepen your relationship with the Holy Spirit.
 
Palm and Passion Sunday – March 29, 10:30 am

Throughout Lent we have been exploring and engaging with music and word on the topic of faith, doubt and hope.  This Sunday, Chris Mogan performs Marc Cohen’s “Walking in Memphis”.  We thank all the musicians who shared their gift of music with us during our “Breaking Faith” Lenten journey.
 
A reminder that Lenten Offering envelopes are available from the ushers this Sunday.  The Lenten Offering donations are to support Trinity’s Food Shelf programs.  Thank-you for your continued support of this very important ministry!
  
Maundy Thursday Potluck and Communion Service – Thursday April 2nd
Come join with your friends from Omond and St. Andrew’s United Churches for a potluck and Communion service beginning at 6 pm at St. Andrew’s United Church (McIntyre entrance).  Please bring a potluck dish to share and be welcomed in a time of fellowship and faith.
 
Youth Prayer Vigil – Thursday April 2nd and 3rd.
The Youth Prayer Vigil begins following the Maundy Thursday Communion Potluck and wraps up after the City-wide Good Friday Service.  All youth in grade 7 and up are invited to this all night prayer vigil. Youth who are unable to attend the potluck are welcome to meet us at Trinity after 7:30 pm.  
 
Good Friday – Friday April 3rd – 10 am
The area United Churches gather for a shared Good Friday Service at Omond United Church.  Please note that the worship time has been changed to 10 am!
 
Easter Sunrise Service – Sunday April 5th, 7:30 am
Join us bright and early Easter morning at the corner of Ferguson and McIntyre for a special morning sunrise service.  Following the service come inside for hotcross buns and coffee.
 
Easter Sunday Service – Sunday April 5th, 10:30 am
Join us for joyful, music filled Easter Communion Service.

Buy your gas, food and gift ideas with gift cards and help your Trinity AOTS support youth group activities and the Warming Centre.  Please see Ed Rose after the service to order your gift cards.
 
If you would like to order an Easter Lily in memory or in honour of someone special to be placed in the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday (and taken home afterwards) please be sure to fill in the order form at the back of the bulletin or contact Ione after church.

King Lear is coming to Trinity!

King Lear is coming to North Bay! Trinity is proud to be supporting this wonderful arts initiative. Tickets are available now. Do not miss the opportunity to see this home grown, world class performance!

Veteran award-winning Canadian actor David Fox takes the title role in a northern Ontario version of William Shakespeare’s “King Lear.” Made possible through crowd-funding and several community partnerships, King Lear is poised for multiple presentations at Trinity United Church between April 16th and April 26th.

The excitement begins THIS Wednesday night, when we host a special fundraising interview engagement between director Rod Carley and King Lear star David Fox. Wednesday March 25th at 7pm at Trinity United Church (corner of Ferguson and McIntyre). Admission is $15 at the door.

David Fox’s professional acting career spans over forty years. From the seminal collective creations of Theatre Passe Muraille in the early seventies, to new Canadian works across the country, to the Stratford Festival, to film and television performances, Mr. Fox is regarded as one of finest actors Canada has produced. He is a proud Northern Ontarian.

Trinity Weekly Update – March 20th

Hello Trinity Friends,

Happy first day of spring!  This Sunday, the fifth Sunday in Lent, we are joined by musicians Brian Risk as well as a group formed specifically for this Sunday (Jen Hedican, Chris Clarke, Marcel MacDonald and Ryan Rozicki.  These songs will touch on the theme of determination.  

Following the worship service please plan to stay and enjoy coffee and snacks provided by Barclay House as a thank you to Trinity for our communion services we provide throughout the year.  Be sure to say hello to Meaghan, from the Barclay House and thank her for their generosity.

Some Announcements

Every Inch a King

The 4th and final lecture in the NO FEAR LEAR series is Wednesday March 25 at 7 p.m. in the Fireside Room at Trinity United Church (corner of McIntyre and Ferguson). Admission $15. 

Rod Carley interviews veteran award-winning Canadian actor David Fox on a life in Canadian theatre and his preparation for the role of King Lear. An audience question period and reception will follow.

Hello Trinity Friends,
This Sunday is the fourth Sunday in Lent. Our guest musicians this week are Kathleen and Rich McCallum and Rebecca Hillis. This Sunday’s songs engage the theme of hope. Following the worship please join us downstairs for lunch. Funds raised for this Sunday’s lunch will go towards the renovations that are being done in the AA room and the hallway behind the kitchen.

The next Mustard Seed rehearsal is scheduled for Sunday March 22nd at 12:30.

The AOTS gift card orders are being collected this Sunday and also on March 29th. Your continuing support for this is appreciated! Funds raised help to support programming and outreach for Youth.

A reminder that the Board meets on Tuesday March 17th at 7 pm. If you are a member of the Board and have not received the minutes please let me know and I will add you to the email list.
