Trinity Weekly Update

Hello Trinity Friends,

This Sunday please join us for worship at 10:30 am.  Our scripture reading will be from Hebrews 5 and we’ll be exploring the many images of Jesus, an example of which can be seen on the cover of this week’s bulletin.   These images are taken from the Isenheim Alterpiece, created by Matthias Grünewald circa 1515.

Next Sunday, November 1st costumes are welcome in worship.  Please remember that Daylight Saving Time ends and our clocks get turned back an hour.

Fall Communion Services

The Pastoral Care Committee, along with Rev. Ted will be sharing communion at the following locationsAll are welcome to come and share in these special services.

Nipissing Manor – Tuesday November 10th, 2:15 pm

Some Announcements and Upcoming Events

Benefit Concert featuring barbershop quartet “Heartbeat”, the “Heavenly Hosts” and comedy duo Carole Dobbs and Hugh Smith.  Sunday October 25th at 2 – 4pm at Powassan United Church.  Adults $10 – Students $5 with proceeds to the Powassan Library and the Powassan Food Bank.

2016 Church Calendars are now available from Janice Brownlee for $5.00

Scout Popcorn Orders are being collected after church this Sunday from Eric Brownlee.  Please make cheques out to “Scouts Canada – 1st North Bay”

The Sunday School under the direction of Pam Somerville, has begun working on an art piece for the “Advent through Art” project that will be happening at Trinity. If you have a piece of art that you would like to contribute, please speak with Rev. Ted – we would like to have your art by November 1st.

GEO-CACHING WITH TRINITY FAMILIES

We will gather to make small F.R.O.G. crafts on Sunday November 1st after church and then on Saturday November 7th  at 1 pm we will gather at Trinity and then head to our geo-caching area in Laurier Woods.  For more information speak with Marcel MacDonald or Rob Sanders. 

The J.O.Y. Band presents: Musical Memories of the War Years 

Sunday November 8th at 2 pm.  Sing-a-long begins at 1:30.  Complimentary refreshments.  Free Will Offering with all proceeds to support Trinity Sunday School’s Syrian Refugee Family appeal.

The UCW Christmas Tea and Bazaar is coming up on November 14th.  If you are able to help out by making sandwiches, baking or providing items for sale for any of the tables please speak with Rae  or Doris-Rae.  If you have used items for the white elephant table please speak with Sharen.  Call the church office for contact information.
