Trinity this week – Third Sunday in Advent – December 11, 2022

Hello Trinity Friends,
Please join us this third Sunday in Advent as we celebrate “JOY” with the Sunday School Christmas Pageant!  Next Sunday Trinity’s Choir will share their very special Christmas Cantata: I Hear the Prophet Callin’.  You will not want to miss either of these special Sundays!​ Our worship service will be livestreamed to YouTube for those unable to attend in person.  Trinity’s Worship Services


​There are a number of community announcements and upcoming worship services to share with you.  Please read on.
The sympathy of the congregation is extended to Sue, Cheryl, Michael Miller and family on the death of their Mother/Grandmother, Anna Suzanne Miller, on December 7th.  The funeral service will be at Martyn Funeral Home on Wednesday December 14th.  Visitation will begin at 1:30 with a service in the chapel starting at 3 pm.
Updated Office Hours Please note that the new office hours at Trinity are Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 12 pm.  The offices will be closed on Friday (except for special occasions).  Outside the regular office hours please be sure to reach out to the staff before coming down. We are often on site outside those hours. 
TONIGHT – Dreamcoat presents “The Night the Reindeer Rocked” at Trinity United Church, 7 pm.  This short musical (aprox 30 minutes) will get you into the spirit of Christmas while helping to support the Trinity United Church Food Shelf!  Admission is by donation of money or non-perishable food item for Trinity’s Food Shelf.  If you can’t make a show tonight, there is another opportunity!  Saturday December 10th, at 2 pm at One Kids Place. Break a leg Dreamcoat kids – and thank-you for helping to feed those who are hungry in our community!

AOTS Christmas Pudding There are a few more Christmas Puddings available to purchase.  $20 each.  Please be sure to pick yours up on Sunday morning. 
Coming soon from the AOTS (As One That Serves)The ever popular Soup Tasting Night returns Friday January 27th.  They will be looking for soup submissions and bakers (bread, rolls and cupcakes).Watch for more information (and a sign up sheet) before the end of December.

Trinity’s Christmas Bag Outreach gifts will be packed this upcoming week and delivered to multiple organizations who support those in transition and crisis.  Thank you to those of you who already donated items and cash!  The final shopping will take place on Monday – if you have items or cash to donate please remember the deadline is this Sunday December 11th.  Thanks again!

Wednesday December 21st:  Longest Night Candle Lighting Service, 7 pm–  Trinity and St. Andrew’s United Church invite you to a service of remembrance and reflection on the longest night of the year. Sam Depatie and Ariel Hyatt will set the mood with their beautiful contemplative string music. 7 pm

Saturday December 24th:  Christmas Eve Service- Christmas Eve Service, 7 pm – Brief Communion Service, 8:15 pm

Sunday December 25th:  Christmas Day Service, 10:30 am Come “as you are” for a light hearted, fun and interactive Christmas service
