Hello Trinity Friends,
This Sunday is our St. Francis Sunday service – you are invited to bring in your favourite stuffie, furry friend, or animal mementos to be blessed. It is also the day we celebrate Orange Shirt Day. Please remember to wear your orange! The day is inspired by Phyllis Jack Webstad’s experience on her first day at residential school in 1973. Phyllis was stripped of her new orange shirt, a shirt that had brought her a sense of affirmation and dignity. Canadians are asked to wear orange as a sign of support for children and communities affected by the Indian Residential School System.
A reminder that next Sunday October 6th is World Wide Communion Sunday. A special communion service will take place at the Empire Living on Monday October 7th at 10 am.
Special thank-you to those individuals and groups who have contributed to the roof already or initiated a fundraising idea. Darlene Laferriere is heading up the “raise the roof” fundraising team – volunteers are needed to help coordinate the fundraising efforts – please speak with Darlene if you are interested in helping. Also – if you or your group has a great idea for a fundraiser please let the committee know so we can diversify our efforts!
A reminder that this Sunday after church people will be washing apples. If you can stay to help out, please do! The pie making begins on Monday! If you want to to contribute to this amazing fundraiser you would be most welcome. Pie making begins at 9 am!
The Monday Morning Food Shelf is still looking for volunteers – all are welcome but we are hoping for at least one more male volunteer. Please speak Jim Liddell or Lisa Blais if you are able to help out one Monday morning a month. Thank-you!
Autumn Blessings,
