Hello Trinity Friends,
This Sunday we celebrate Palm and Passion Sunday. The children’s choir will join with Trinity’s choir to bring us into Palm Sunday. Jodi St Pierre is our Blues Musician. The children will unpack the Palm Sunday story during their Sunday School time.
A reminder that immediately following the worship service, you are invited to stay for an important Building Challenges Information Session. Please remain in your pews after the worship service today/Sunday for a 20 minute presentation regarding our building challenges and next steps. If you are unable to remain for the full details, please be sure to pick up a letter and summary information page at the back of the sanctuary prior to departing church today. Those who are unable to attend will receive a mailer or email with the pertinent information. We appreciate you taking time to prayerfully consider and respond to the contents. We also invite questions and comments during coffee time or by contacting Amanda Silk, Glenn Brophey or Cindy Brownlee. Their contact information is included in the letter.
Children’s Choir – please note that Amanda will be holding a rehearsal this Saturday April 12 from 9:30 – 10 am and on Sunday morning 9:45 – 10:20. All children are welcome – it will be wonderful to have some joyful and strong voices to sing HOSANNA!
BUT before all that – we hope you will join us for Trinity’s Annual Coffee House Talent Night – Tonight (Friday April 11) at 6:30 pm – Doors open at 6 (no admittance until 6). The Hosts will play from 6:30 to 7 and then those who signed up to share their talents will follow. The Hosts will close out the night with a few more songs as well. Decadent dessert, gourmet coffee and tea, plus a whole lot of talent will be a perfect Friday night! See you there!
EASTER LILIES – Deadline date to order is this Sunday
The UCW will be purchasing lilies for the Sanctuary on Easter Sunday. If you would like to donate an Easter Lily in memory of, or in honour of someone please fill out the form in your bulletin and see Rae Brownlee or Claudette Brown after the service with the form and payment, The Lilies will be placed in the Sanctuary Easter morning and then you may take them home after the service!
SAVE THE DATE! Trinity Board invites you to join us for lunch and lively discussion on Sun. May 4 after church. We will engage in conversation about options for how to turn our building challenges into building blessings!
As we head into HOLY WEEK – there are a number of special services to participate in.
· Maundy Thursday Potluck and Communion Service – St. Andrew’s United Church – Thursday April 17th, 6 pm
· Youth (all night) Prayer Vigil – Thursday April 17th,
7 pm until Friday April 18th (following the Good Friday Breakfast at 8 am) – at Trinity Church
· Good Friday Service at Trinity, Friday April 18th,10:30 am. With a special United Churches Good Friday Choir Cantata
· Good Friday Breakfast hosted by the AOTS with Pastor Caitlin Smithers as special guest. Tickets must be purchased ahead of time. Speak with Maurice Laporte to get yours!
· Easter Sunrise Service, Sunday April 20th, 7:30 am (followed by hot cross buns and coffee in Trinity’s Fellowship Hall
· Musical Easter Communion Service, 10:30 am at Trinity with special music
