Trinity this week – May 30, 2019

Hello Trinity Friends,

This weekly email comes a day early as some of us prepare to attend the first meeting of the Canadian Shield Regional Council in Sault Ste. Marie. Many of us are looking forward to meeting new colleagues and friends and discussing the work of the wider church. Look for more information about the meeting in the near future.

This Sunday, join us for a very special worship service. The UCW will be leading the service. We will also be sharing a video recorded sermon from our Executive Minister to the Canadian Shield Regional Council, Rev. Peter Hartmans. The Mustard Seed cast will be sharing one of their songs from their upcoming show as well.

In Sunday School the children will be starting a special Sunday School session, led by Karen and Wes Johnson. The Sunday School Sprouts Program will be a wonderful opportunity for children to engage with nature and put into practice caring for God’s creation! The Sunday School, under the mentorship of Karen, Wes and other Trinity gardeners ,will have the opportunity to weed, plant and care for our garden. Gardening gloves will be provided!

Next Sunday join us for Communion and a celebration of the Sunday School Volunteers!

Mustard Seed Present’s “Not Your Average Joe” – The classic story of Joseph told with a 1950’s twist! Ranging in age from 4 to 13, a cast of 21 talented young people will have you bopping along as they sing, dance and act out this familiar story. There are two perfomances on Sunday June 9th – A matinee at 1:30 and an evening show at 7 pm. Tickets are available at the door and are $10 for Adults and $5 for students and children. Come out and support budding local theatre! For more information please contact Lisa at blais.trinity@gmail.com

That very same Sunday, the Hope2Kenya team will be holding a pasta supper! Pasta will be available from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. $10 per person ($5 for children).

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday – dinner and a show for $20 (or a matinee and a dinner).

Please come out and support both of these excellent events!

We would like to offer our sincere thanks to Betty Farris, Neil Kennedy, and all the J.O.Y. Band and J.O.Y. Band too musicians for an excellent spring concert. There was over $4300 raised for the Trinity Roof Restoration Fund! WOW! Thank-you to all involved.

Blessings and peac
