Trinity this week – May 16, 2021

Hello Trinity Friends,

This Sunday join us online for worship.  The service (and services from weeks past) are available here Trinity’s YouTube Channel  On our YouTube channel you will find  a few extras as well.  Look for the Messages of Hope playlist which consists of short uplifting messages recorded by Trinity leaders and friends.  You can listen to these anytime!  A new one will be posted at least once a week.
If you are not able to watch on YouTube and if you have Cogeco TV, you can now watch us on Cogeco’s YourTV Channel 12 (700 HD).  The worship services run a week behind.  They are aired at 8 am and 3 pm.

The Toilet Paper North Bay drive is on.  This is the 8th annual campaign to collect toilet paper for the Food Bank programs in North Bay.  Our food shelf has been the recipient of cases of tp in the past.  This year, Ellen Faulkner (the organizer of the TP drive) has suggested that we could ask our Church family to donate directly to Trinity’s Food Bank.  If possible, when you are shopping, please put an extra package in your cart.  You can contact the church office to arrange a time to drop them off to Trinity or for someone to pick up.  Thanks for your support!

Rev. Ted’s Secret Book Club 2021 – Sign up by May 23rd!Learn to love your imperfect life with one of Rev. Ted’s favourite books. Which book? You’ll never know unless you join our secret book club, summer 2021!
The book is short (just over 100 pages!) And you’ll get it for free with your donation to Trinity’s Roof Fund. Last year, we suggested a $100 minimum donation. This year, we fully recognize that the pandemic impacted us unequally. So if you want to join the club, please do. And if you can donate even more generously, please do! (Our secret sponsor is donating books for anyone who hesitates to participate due to finances.)
New for 2021 – Rev. Ted is developing a book club guide, to enrich your reading experience. He also plans on hosting a more interactive book club party in July. (In person if the rules allow!)
We’ll keep these meetings small and share stories from our own lives, reconnecting with our supportive church community. We will also host an alternative, virtual gathering for anyone who understandably isn’t quite ready for an ‘in-person’ gathering.
Ready to join?
1. Send an email to Lisa at with your address so we can make our guest list and deliver books. (Also: Let us know if you prefer your copy as an audiobook).2. Make your donation to Trinity’s Roof fund – drop off a cheque made out to Trinity United Church (marked book club) or you can donate by etransfer (contact the church office for info on how to do that)  Suggested donation: $100. Tax receipts will be available for donations over $20.
3. Read and contemplate and enjoy!
Please reserve your spot and donate by May 23rd so you can receive your book by June. You’ll have a month to read it before the book parties in July. Join the club – donate today!

A reminder! Order your scout popcorn before May 21st from Dave McKenney, if you want to save on shipping costs. Otherwise, feel free to browse and order yours to be shipped to your doorstep! Be sure to choose “North Bay Scouting Group” when you order. More details can be found in the Spring Newsletter or by contacting Dave (contact the church office for his contact info)

Enjoy this beautiful weather – “see” you Sunday!
