Trinity North Bay Worship cancelled March 15th – Covid-19 Concern

Dear Trinity Friends and Family,

As many of you know, there has been considerable action taken to slow the spread of the Corona Virus across our country and in our community.  Trinity’s Board has made the decision to cancel the Church service tomorrow, Sunday, March 15.  We want to ensure that all our people, including our most vulnerable members, are kept as safe as possible.  The Board will be meeting via tele-conference on Monday, March 16 to discuss further actions – which may include closing the Church until April. This is in line with what other churches, schools and organizations have already initiated.  In a time when there is much uncertainty and concern, we want to assure you that we will continue to offer pastoral care and emergent outreach support to those who need it. Our food bank programs will continue to provide food with special attention to the health and safety of all involved. Please keep an eye on your email and our social media sites in the next few days as we continue to assess how we can be together as a community.  We will be exploring ways that we can worship and pray together in our own homes via technology.

Jim Jackson, Acting Chair of the Canadian Shield Regional Council offers these words:

During this time of Lent, we may need to fast from our normal routine. As with every lent, this is a time for both reflection, prayer, and contemplation. If we have to let go of gatherings for fellowship, meetings, and worship or just change how we greet each other, we may want to consider Lenten practice and reflect on what it means to be in community together.  Easter will come.  With the resurrection, Hope breaks in.
